Ryanair PtII and The CAA

May 31, 2020 in News

I'm hoping that BBC's Watchdog programme, is seriously considering an investigation into Ryanair's rogue business practices.

Ryanair's CEO Michael O’Leary should be a top contender for its rogue trader's gallery on BBC one's watchdog. The company is currently withholding hundreds of thousands of pounds if not millions, in ex-passengers money who have had their flights cancelled due to COVID-19. The CAA who is responsible for enforcing the law is doing nothing to return these monies to its desperate passengers.

These cases have been in the press and highlighted by money-saving expert Martin Lewis. So today I have written to the CEO of the CAA to ask what he is intending to do to hold Ryanair to account for its actions and how he is going to tackle Ryanair in returning ex-passengers money.

As regular readers will know, I do have a vested interest in this particular case as they are holding £263 of our cancelled flight money but nevertheless, we should not I want these types of businesses in our district operating out of Southend airport.

Are you a victim of Ryanair waiting on money to be refunded?

I am writing to you as ex customer and a Councillor of the Rochford District in which Ryanair operates from nearby Southend Airport.

Could you please tell me and the residents in the Rochford District why Ryanair is allowed to continue to operate whilst clearly breaking the law on issuing timely refunds to passengers that have had their flights cancelled? Ryanair continues to aggressively market its business to take new bookings, but its business are nothing more than that of a rogue airline operator, with unresponsive customer services and a blatant disregard for the law.

I would appreciate a response so I may give my constituents the appropriate response to their concerns.

Yours sincerely

Pavement Promotion Problems

Tonight’s review committee meeting brought up the issue of the pavement promotions problems. The reference to ‘pavement promotion problems’ is really to A boards. The blight of A boards through the High St (Rayleigh) seems to get increasingly worse – however, this may only be a ‘perception‘. Taking in to account the number of reports
