Developing A Disaster On Our Highways

With the development of 47 dwellings now underway, residents are now experiencing the effects of this planning application on London Road for another 47 dwellings.

It’s a development that I couldn’t support knowing that the chaos it would not only bring to our highways during the construction phase but the additional impact that it will place on our, already saturated infrastructure.

Residents are making complaints about the temporary traffic lights required to complete this construction, which will last a whole month (until 31st March) and it’s interesting that those responsible for the very being of the site being used for development, are giving responses to indicate they would raise residents concerns.

‘Raise concerns?’ – given each of the Councillors have already had that opportunity at the planning stage, it really is a case of too little too late and I think this is very misleading for residents. Any planning to mitigate these construction works was far from ‘oven-ready!’
