Just as one set of roadworks ends another one begins. At least it feels like that. However, the epic planning by Essex County Council will kick off again on the 1st March and appears to be planned to continue right the way through until 15th July if the data from one network is correct.

One part of me wonders how Mark Francois will deal with this little lot. His private member’s bill, that somehow I’m sure he’ll mention to me, is about fining for overrunning roadworks. This doesn’t mitigate against the roadworks in the first place! Still, I await my response to my recent email sent on the matter and will update should I hear anything back.

In the meantime, residents should remember that you can’t build houses without digging up roads and there’s plenty of this to come as the Conservatives continue to vote to pave over the South East!
