Shining a Light On Our Street Lighting Problems

Complaints about the speed of repairs of our street lights and potholes are undoubtly one of the top items that fill my inbox.
With the street lights being gradually moved over to LED across the County, I thought residents would be interest in finding out about the progress being made in the Rochford District.

Next week, I will be attending the 'Place Services and Economic Growth Policy and Scrutiny Committee' at Essex County Council and the rollout progress will be discussed. The current date for the rollout in Rochford is 2024 Quarter 1, which is a long way off, especially with the number of street lights that are out of working order in our area. Some of these may be down to UK Power Networks, but I suspect many are due to broken bulbs. I hope to get some answers on this for residents and find out what the plan is to 'bridge' the gap between now and then.
If there are any specific questions on this you would like me to raise please drop me an email at [email protected]
