School Contributes to Car bon Problems

This week I’ve been contacted by angry local residents in the Cheapside West (my neighbours!) and Pearson’s Avenue about the traffic problems around Sweyne Park School.

There is a certain irony that Sweyne Park School has hailed it’s net zero carbon building as something of an achievement but is failing to address the issues for residents with traffic problems and the associated pollution in the surrounding roads.

Since Sweyne Park has expanded the school to include a 6th form, traffic has notably increased and I have previously had contact with former headmaster Mr Hodgkinson, about the problems which he was quick to address. It now seems (through residents feedback) the school is failing to take action on these important issues.

In support of the residents I have written both the Essex County Councillor for Rayleigh South and Sweyne Park facilities management.

I will update this post as soon as I have comment from either party.
