Rayleigh Shines Bright, Despite The Damp Weather

November 29, 2019 in News

The wet weather did nothing to dampen the spirits of hundreds of local residents who visited Rayleigh town centre for last night’s Christmas light switch on event.

It was great to see so many people enjoying themselves and I particularly enjoyed one of the local school singing about ‘shopping!’

An event like this, does take a lot of planning and organisation and also requires lots of hands, to make sure it runs as smoothly.

I did speak to a few business people last night and they have seriously forgotten that Christmas is the season of goodwill which was disappointing.

Personally, I think Christmas light ‘switch ons’ are an important calendar event for the local community and one which Rayleigh Town Council does very well!
