Fingers In Ears By Conservative Councillors

September 8, 2019 in News

If you’ve been following me on social media (Facebook @cllrjamesnewport or Twitter @jimnewport), then you will have read this week how I’ve tried to get in contact with some of the Conservative ‘leadership’ Councillors.

Why? The problems that the multiple roadworks around our town has caused for residents and businesses

One of those Councillors that I have attempted to get in touch with was Kevin Bentley, at Essex County Council. He is responsible for the issuing of works permits to those wishing to dig up our roads.

The other Conservative Councillor that I have sent an email to, is Simon Wootten who is the portfolio at Rochford District Council, responsible for enterprise. I asked Cllr Wootten what he intends to do in future to mitigate this type of chaos for local business.

You might not be surprised at their response…

NO RESPONSE

This to me is typical Tory arrogance that they believe they are not accountable to the people that elected them. I can only hope that residents will reflect on this uncaring Conservative party and #demand better for the future.
