Essex Highways Ask… What Do I Think?

Essex Highways have sent Councillors an email asking us to

offer their view on the priorities and satisfaction levels associated with the specific services provided by Essex Highways. The responses you provide feed in to our planning cycle and help us to consider how we can best use our limited resources to meet current and future demands.

I can’t say that I hold them in high esteem, particularly when we have endured chaos on our roads over the summer months by the disastrous planning (or lack of) of road closures/traffic lights in and around our area. I sent countless emails, spoke to those in charge and listened to residents as they had to endure the daily horror of delays to their journeys.

There doesn’t even appear to be glimmer of anyone taking responsibility for this with a ‘Hey we got it wrong…’ – even the MP has attempted to haul them over the coals but this is the making of his own political party and their policies so does nothing to reassure me we won’t see this happen again.

As for their survey… how do you think Essex Highways performs on roads, street lighting, drainage, footpaths, cycleways and grass cutting?
