Residents have been in contact with me previously with concerns about speeding on Hockley Road. I asked Essex Highways to commission a speed survey (£300) and they have now sent me the results. As always for transparency, I have included the detailed survey results, and below is a summary of the survey.

This survey was located 30 meters Northeast of the junction with Nelson Rd and was operational between 13 – 19th April 2024.

Northeast bound.

With a total of 62,181 vehicles counted across 7 days with an average speed of 32.0mph in a 30mph posted limit.

Southwest bound.

With a total of 62,338 vehicles counted across 7 days with an average speed of 28.8mph in a 30mph posted limit.
