So Your Kids’ School’s Got To Close – What’s the Plan?

Many local residents will remember that recently The King Edmund School had to close due the discovery of asbestos during building works

Today I asked the Cabinet member responsible for education, Cllr Tony Ball a question about how they would deal with such a closure in the future...

The King Edmund School in Rochford was closed for several weeks due to unexpected circumstances. Many of the pupils were forced to study from home and has undoubtedly affected their education.
"Could the cabinet member tell us what lessons he has learnt and what action he will be taking, along with the DfE to ensure that schools across the county have got robust DR plans in place that are tried and tested to minimise any potential disruption to young person’s education in the future should an unforeseen circumstance like this occur again?"

I also asked a question about the LED rollout across the County. Currently, there are no delays
