If like me, you are frustrated by the poor and unreliable internet that we have in our area, let the BDUK team know. Although there is hope on the horizon (via the Cityfibre rollout), for some, reliable internet services, are probably more important than speed. Constant disconnections and pesky high pings (gamers will know what I mean) are the bugbear for most internet users. So, take 60 seconds to drop BDUK your experience of our internet service provision here in SS6.
Building Digital UK (BDUK) is responsible for building digital infrastructure programmes for the government. In an increasingly digital world, access to high-speed broadband is key.
BDUK is currently running a public review in Essex to identify which areas are eligible for future, public-funded rollout of gigabit-capable broadband. Digital Essex is asking all residents and businesses in Essex to respond to the review with their current broadband availability status.
In order to do this, respondents need to:
- Use this interactive map to identify your current eligibility status for Project Gigabit.
- If the map shows your address with a grey box, this means that gigabit connectivity already exists, or there are plans to get gigabit connectivity to you within three years. You do not need to contact BDUK unless you disagree with this.
- If the map shows your address with a yellow box, this means that BDUK is not aware of any plans to get gigabit connectivity to you within three years. If you agree with this, or you are aware of any plans, please let BDUK know.
- Follow the instructions available here (‘How to respond to the review’ section). Send this information in an email to [email protected]
The survey closes at 5pm on the 3rd of November and has already seen a very high response rate from Essex addresses
